When researching online in preparation for my Maid of Honour Speeches it dawned on me the obvious lack of sites about

How To Write Perfect Maid of Honour Speeches.

Of course, I had some help and advice to concoct my speech from a handful of top maid of honor speech resources. But I will explain all in this blog. I intend to include and reveal some vital tips, helpful advice and top relevant wedding sites. All of which I would not have been able to do my important speech without.

I was able to stand up on the wedding day and recite some maid of honor speeches that I was confident and proud of and had the guests laughing, then crying, and then smiling. It was an incredible and treasured experience. I want you to be able to write your perfect and unique maid of honor speech as well. By following just a few tips, you will be able to.

So from that unforgettable experience, I wanted to give you soon to be Maid and Matron’s Of Honor, my recipe for making a successful speech. Ok Great!!! So, let’s get cooking

Step 1: Begin with your speech preparation. Just as you would preheat the cooker and lay out all of your ingredients, you need to prepare your speech. Please take your time. Start planning your speech early. Make sure if you can the leave plenty of time before the wedding. This will leave room to fix any mistakes and of course, time to practice reciting your speech.

But above all, do not rush it and think carefully. Remember this next important point… You do not have to write the whole speech in one sitting. ( Phew and excuse to take lots of breaks I strongly recommend this technique as you may find that ideas come to you over time. Plus the time away from your speech will help you to spot any little mistakes next time you read over it.

Step 2: Next, add a heaped cup of sincerity. This is one of the most important ingredient of any maid of honour speech. Emotion and honest is the secret seasoning to a powerful and memorable speech. Don’t be afraid to make a few people cry, and always remember to make sure the words come from your heart. This is key to concocting a speech that will be a screaming success and the bride will treasure.

Step 3: Add in a dash of humor. Tasteful and funny maid of honor speeches are guaranteed a hit at the reception. Mix up the emotions. I think a great speech is a bit like a roller-coaster ride. A quick journey though the happy couples life together. With lost of happy moments, sad moments and funny moments. To start you off you could include a funny story from the bride’s past or an anecdote about the happy couple.

Humor is a excellent way to break up the seriousness of the speech as well as make it enjoyable to listen too. Just make sure to withhold any embarrassing moments. You do not want to ruin the day by upsetting the bride.

Step 4: This recipe should only bake for a short period of time. In other words, do not make your speech too long. I’m sure you know what i mean when i say “There is nothing more boring than a speech that rambles on forever.” You will lose your audience and your speech will be a flop. Make sure it is meaningful and relatively short.

Step 5: When serving out you speech make sure you speak loudly and clearly. If you audience can not hear you they will get bored and restless and all your hard work and preparation will go to waste.

Also, try to keep eye contact with the crowd and project your voice around the room (but don’t worry to much as you most likely will have a microphone.) The eye contact will involve the audience and make the speech feel more personal, resulting in their full undivided attention.

Oh and my last quick tip on serving your speech….is to stand up. This may seem a bit obvious but this simple task can be very nerve wracking as you will be the immediate attention of that huge crowd. YIKES. But try not to chicken out as this really will help them to see and hear you and you speech will have the full impact and it will be one to remember.

GREAT! So there you have it, my quick and easy recipe for a perfect maid of honour wedding speech. If you follow these guidelines, then you will be golden. Even with all of this, I had to get a lot of help and used some high quality resources to help me with all areas of my speech. The best thing of all is to check out as many

Maid Of Honor Speech Tips From A Real Life Example - A blog about my personal experience writing maid of honour speeches and tips i have gained through this experience.

Hi! My name is Sophie!

Welcome and thank you very much for reading and visiting my new blog with hopefully some helpful tips and advice to make sure you write your PERFECT

HOW TO WRITE GREAT MAID OF HONOUR SPEECHES

Since you are reading this, you must be getting ready to be a maid or matron of honor soon. What an exciting, and stressful time!… As the maid of honor, you obviously hold a very special place in the bride’s preparations and planning for her big day.

While you may find yourself caught up with all the pressure of the traditional responsibilities…you must remember to make sure you do not forget and neglect the Maid Of Honour Speeches.

If you are anything like me, then you may have been naughty and pushed this worrisome task to the back of your mind not thought much about the speech. In fact, you may have forgotten about it altogether (under the strain of all the other tasks that are expected of this can be very easy so don’t feel guilty if you have)!

Yep, I delayed my speech until the week before the wedding. YIKES, talk about leaving it last minute…So from my experience my first and probably one of my biggest tips is – whatever you do, do not forget about the speech and wait until the last minute to prepare.

I wanted to write this blog to help all you maid of honour’s to be out there by providing some essential speech tips from a real life example. I am sure there are plenty of you out there who have to think about speech writing along with helping the bride prepare for the big day.

When I eventually realized I could not longer ignore the fact that I had to write a speech, I forced myself to get to work on it asap. It wasn’t long before it dawned on me that I had absolutely know idea where to begin or more importantly what was expected of me. It was not long before panic set in. I hadn’t a clue what to start writing down, and I knew I wanted the speech to be as perfect as could be, i was desperate not the let the bride down and ruin her big day and of course avoid embarrassing myself at all costs if possible. This was for my sister’s big day, and I knew that the speech had to go above and beyond just a simple toast.

After a long and grueling 3hours of a pitiful attempt of writing my maid of honour speech I reluctantly through up my arms and admitted defeat. I was totally at my wits end and was sure I was doomed to single handily wreck the wedding day with a shockingly bad speech, But it wasn’t until a kind friend made me realize something… I did not have to create the speech all by myself! In fact, I realized that there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with finding some tips and tricks to help me conduct my speech.

So I sat at the computer and set to work researching all I could on writing a maid of honor wedding speech.

It wasn’t long before I came across some GREAT useful advice and ideas that really helped me. It really was refreshing advice and I think it would help you out a lot as well. After all the travelling through numerous wedding websites and blogs, some helpful, some less so. It was obvious to me that this was the best site for my needs and was exactly what I was looking for.

After just a few hours of searching on the Internet for relevant wedding pages. I found myself stumbling across a couple of fantastic sites. I was able to stand up on my sisters wedding day and deliver a maid of honour wedding speech that was confident and something i feel myself is proud of. Although totally nerve wracking at the time, giving my speech was one of the biggest highlights of that special day. An unforgettable experience with treasured memories that will stay with me for ever.

My aim for writing and creating this site was to help all you maid or matron of honours to be to concoct your perfect and unique memorable maid of honour toast. Through my experience I have discovered the recipe for a successful speech and just by following a few simple but effective tips you will have the full ingredients to make a wedding speech to remember.

I really hope you have enjoyed my wedding blog so far.

I will be posting more tips in the next few days and after the holiday.

Stay tuned!

As the date for my sister’s wedding loomed ever so close, I found myself still frantically attempting to write an inspirational, yet sweet maid of honour speech. As with all Maid of Honour Speeches my aim was to wow everyone. This unfortunately was harder than I anticipated…. I eventually decided on a plan of action, to sit down and just jot down some of the many thoughts that popped into my head.

You may say that there are more efficient ways to plan your maid of honour wedding toast, but this is fantastic way to kick start ideas.

In the beginning i found my self a little dry for ideas. But when I got the idea of using speech prompts ad guides useful information came along thick and fast.

I started to brain storm bits of information about the happy couple.

I jotted down, how they met, how i knew them, how long they had been happily together, some of our most special and memorable moments and funny sorties we have encountered etc. This exercise really helped me put into perspective and most importantly words, so excellent meaningful, factual and funny material that was going to give my Maid of Honor speeches an edge and make them unique.

A big tips of mine is that at this stage its best not to bother yourself to much about the order or content of your maid of honour speeches. The biggest hurdle is creating the perfect maid of honour wedding speech. Not necessarily writing it (crazy I know).

To summarize theses are my top tips to start you off.

1. Make an Action Plan. - Sit down and just jot down some of the many thoughts that pop into your head about you and the happy couple.

1. Brain storm bits of information about the happy couple.

* i.e How the bride and groom met

* How you knew the bride and groom

* How long you have been close.

* Some of our most special and memorable moments

* Funny stories you have encountered etc

So by jotting down my thoughts I was already over my first task.

Please do not panic about writing you Maid of Honour Speech. even if you have a night to write it do not fret. I have created this site full of useful information that i wish i was given when i had to write my wedding speech. Follow my simple tips and i guarantee you will have an excellent, moving and unique speech everyone will enjoy and remember.

One of the most important factors of most wedding speeches, particularly with Maid Of Honour speeches, is too be funny. By no means does the entire Speech need to be humorous, but making your audience laugh is a great crowd pleaser. Plus a laugh from the audience will undoubtedly kill those nasty nerves and make you feel far more at ease and confident in front of a large wedding crowd.

Humor is incredibly effective at weddings just as long as the jokes are still poignant just don’t offend anyone….

Funny Bride Wedding Speech

I have to say, for me injecting Punch lines into my Maid Of Honour speech was the most difficult part. Not only do you have to think of something funny, but something that won’t offend anyone in the audience. As my calling in life was not a stand up comedian, (far from it actually as i am a nurse) i panicked about how to write appropriate jokes.

You my be a naturally funny outgoing person who enjoys and finds it easy to make people laugh but trust me it is quite a different ball game trying to physically write out a joke. especially when there will be so many different ages and personalities at the wedding.

Plus as well as having a funny punch line you have to deliver it with confidence and at the exact right moment. Otherwise something that my be funny on paper just leaves your audience awkwardly ogling at you. Eek Just imagine what it would be like if all went wrong… and everyone just starred… Cringe. As I was desperate not to embarrass myself in front of all the people plus i didn’t want to ruin any chances of my sister having to impress her new extended family.

No no it was essential that I got it right. I needed tips. I needed guidelines. So i decided to search for some on the Internet for some advice. There’s plenty of useful tips and but the site i personally found most useful was…… It was a life saver really.

The secret to a Funny Maid Of Honour Speech

The use of humor in Maid Of Honor Speeches will ensure that everybody keep listening properly. I recommend you scatter it though out your wedding speech as a way of grabbing attention and making sure the audience are focusing on what you want to say.

Don’t go overboard with the jokes though. Say emotional things, and mix it up with some humor to keep everyone relaxed and focused. I was extremely nervous and emotional the big day, and this really helped myself as well as the audience.

Another great funny Maid Of Honour Wedding Speech Tip I learned is for you to be informal and interact with the audience. After all it isn’t a lecture – it’s a wedding toast!

You should feel like you are having a good old chin wag with fellow friends, well this what i pictured!

There re a few simple yet essential rules to stick by when writing, preparing your and delivering your Maid of Honour Speech. To avoid embarrassing moments and guarantee your wedding Speech goes flawlessly then just keep to these easy tips.

DO’S – Key Tips On How To Make Your Maid Of Honour Speech A Guaranteed Success.

Plan Ahead!!!

This is my absolute number one tip. When i was maid of honour i foolishly left writing my Maid Of Honour Speech until a week before. BAD MOVE… The thought of writing it stressed me out so much i kept shoving it to the back of my mind. Big Mistake! This only left me much, much more stressed. I thought a week would be more then enough time but anyone who’s been strongly involved in a wedding (which obviously you will be due to your role as a Maid Of Honour) knows loads of problems can pop up in that final week before the wedding. Thus leaving you tired and exhausted with not enough hours in the day to research and design a wedding speech the bride will be proud of.

So to recap – Not planing ahead means a lot of unnecessary amounts of stress and in less control of what you want to say. Luckily there are plenty of resources online for those who are in need of help and guidance. Whether you are looking for a romantic Maid Of Honour wedding speeches, a funny or endearing one.

 Include a couple of jokes.

If you think you can handle it then i is a good idea to add just a couple of relevant jokes. Even if you decide to go for a very romantic speech about the Bride and Groom, a couple of tasteful jokes will just add a little extra.A little bit of humour always go down well at weddings and will ensure that the audience pays full attention to you.

But if like me, you are not a natural stand up comedian and worried you will write jokes that know one will laugh at then sauce some on the Internet. Just make sure they fit in with your speech and are relevant to the Bride and Grooms story.

Remember to ensure your jokes are tasteful and will not upset or make anyone feel uncomfortable. (I Have no doubt that you would be anything other than tasteful but i thought i’d just mention it.)

Make sure you always stand up and speak clearly when delivering your Maid of Honour speeches.

If the audience can’t see you then or hear you then they will lose interest. This would be a huge shame, especially after all the effort you put in to writing it.

My Final DO is to always look out towards the audience when talking.

Not only will they be able to hear you better but they will be much more engaged in your speech as your eye contact will make them feel involved and keep their attention.

DON’TS – Key Tips On What Not To Do When Delivering Your Maid Of Honour Speeches.

My first Don’t is to not make your speech too long.

This is actually a positive thing because it means you have to write less YAY! But if does get too long, no matter how amazing your weeding speech is the audience will get bored and fidgety.

Do not drink too much alcohol before your Maid Of Honor Speech.

One or two to take the edge off your nerves will probably be OK, depending on how you hold your drink. But Do Not not get drunk. I know it might seem difficult to do at a party, especially at a wedding where everywhere you turn there’s champagne. But unless you want to stumble over your dress or mess up your words and embarrass yourself (don’t forget it’s going to be on tape) then i strongly suggest you stick too this simple rule. Just remember you will have plenty of time to let your hair down after the speech.

Okay then. There you have it. From my experience, the DO’S and DON’Ts List. In sure these are all things you will naturally do any way but i though i would include a little section on them.

Maid Of Honour Wedding Speech - Coping With Nerves. In this post i have listed some of the best ways to over come nerves and deliver a spectacular Maid of Honour Speech.

Here are some very essential tips of overcoming fears of speaking in public and having the right mind to deliver your fantastic Maid of Honour Speech. I thought it was very important to include a section on over coming nerves as 99% of people will worry about public speaking. Especially at a wedding where there is a lot of pressure to make it perfect.

But DO NOT FEAR!!!I have sourced some excellent tips to help you cope and ensure you deliver spectacular Maid of Honor speeches.

So with out further a do here are a couple of important things to remember about speaking to an audience at a wedding reception….

Nervous Maid of Honour Speech

1.) I can guarantee your audience wants you to deliver and succeed – honestly, you will have no better audience than at a wedding reception. Your maid of honour speech will bring warmth and character, everyone will be listening tentatively to you and will enjoy what you have to say.

2.) You definitely do not have to be ‘perfect’ to be loved by the audience, everyone makes a mistake here and there but people will love you for it, and it will seem as if your maid of honour wedding speech is not robotic and will come across as natural.

3.) Humility and a bit of comedy are always a smash at weddings receptions. So be sure to add a tasteful jokes into your important maid of honour speeches.

4.) Just be yourself, your audience will admire you for it. Trying to be something your not causes stress and worry on your behalf and you don’t want to seem unnatural to your audience, so be yourself and all costs!

5.) When delivering your maid of honour speeches, keep eye contact with your audience, if you worry about making eye contact will a total stranger, scan the room and find someone you recognize, this should relax and make you feel more at ease when giving your speech. Make the room feel involved when you are speaking, this is always a must at weddings

6.) Try to be prepared and well practiced for the big day. I find reading your speech aloud if extremely effective and helpful. You can practice to your family or friends to get some needed feedback from the people who mean most to you

7.) If you are feeling anxious the night before the wedding speech, use this influx of energy and design an index card with the main points of your Maid of honour speech. Writing the speech down again will be helpful if you need an extra hand while giving your speech.

8.) Imagine the outcome you would want. Think about the mother of the bride laughing at your jokes or sniffling and smiling at your childhood stories.

9.) Work on the tone and volume of your voice. One thing that can happen to people that are intimidated and scared of public speaking is that they won’t project their voice. enough Even if you are not the most confident of girls, you can appear confident by adding volume to your speaking voice. Try practicing your speech into a corner, sound will bounce back of the walls and give you an idea of the ideal confidence tone in your voice.

10.) Have your prompt card ready!

11.) Take deep breaths before you are ready to begin your speech, this will helps with nerves.

12.) Stand up.

13.) Use a microphone if given one. Hold around the middle and keep it a few inches from your lips and an inch or so lower than your mouth. Try not to let it fall because no one will be able to hear you. Try not to hold it too close to your lips or you will get a popping sound when you say your P’s.

14.) A must is not to get drunk before your big bridesmaid speech, tempting but can have disastrous outcomes. Tranquilizers aren’t a very good plan also. They will leave you with an inability to react to the present situation.

15.) Finally my last tip is… Don’t drink a lot of caffeine beforehand either. Caffeine is a nervous stimulant. It is the opposite of what you will want before speaking at the wedding reception.

That’s it. I know that seems like too many things to remember but most people will only need a few tips. But even if you end up forgetting all of these nerve busting tips do NOT forget this…. To have fun! If you look happy and as a though you are enjoying yourself people will not notice or not care if you make a blunder on your Maid of Honor Speeches. You will project out happy vibes ad your wedding speech is destined to be a success.

Just for a little bit of extra help with your nerves and speaking in public i have found a great video to give you some confidence.

So there you have it… I hope you have enjoyed my site on how to write your Maid of Honour Speech and will come away with some useful tips.

It has been fun writing this site, a happy trip down memory lane and i wish you all the best for the big day and with writing and of course with delivering your special Maid Of Honour Speech.

Just remember to relax and enjoy the responsibilities, after all the bride would not have chosen you if she wasn’t more tan sure that you would be perfect for the job.

Final Tip : If like me you have left writing your Maid Of Honour Speeches until the very last minuet, or are struggling to write the words or perhaps are just a perfectionist then i strongly and wholeheartedly recommend what i did….. and that is to use a Maid of Honour Wedding Speech Example.

It took a tremendous weight off my shoulders and allowed me to enjoy the lead up to my sisters big day.

Anyway enough of my chit chat.

Thank you very much for visiting my site and Good Luck!!!

Vidoe’s of Great Maid Of Honour Speeches

Here i have found you a collection of great maid speeches. All are very different but are equally unique and engaging.

When i was planning my BIG speech, not only did i want to get a wedding speech example to help make sure i didn’t go wrong, but i found it very interesting to see what other people have done. This gave me some ideas on how i could deliver and present it.

I hope you find these helpful

I thought this speech was very clever as she opens with a funny and relevant joke. This immediately warms up the audience and gets them interests in what you have to say and ready to laugh at all you jokes. She continues to say what she thinks about the bride. Complements her a lot. This of course will mean a great deal to the bride as it is a very personal approach.

I absolutely loved this speech. I thought it was so clever and sweet and memorable. If you want o make a lasting impression this is a good way to go. However, even though you do not have to have an amazing beautiful singing voice you may not have enough confidence to get up and do this. I’m not sure i would…..

This is another fab, lively and funny speech. No one will forget this in a hurry. Not only is it clever once again to change song lyrics and make them relevant to the happy couple but i though it was a nice idea to introduce other people. This is also a great idea if you are too nervous to completely do a speech on your own.

I thought i would also include this one because it is a classic type of Maid of honour speech. It stats off with cute and funny childhood stories. Its personal throughout and she uses humor in all the correct places. So delivers it very well, an excellent example to follow. She speaks out clearly and with confidence to the audience. Keeps eye contact with the audience which will make them feel involved as wel as directing her attention on the bride herself.

I really hope you have found these vidoes and my site useful for the preparation of your Maid Of Honour Speeches.

I wish you all the best for the big day.
